LEE HARVEY OSWALD

I AM MISUNDERSTOOD. A HUSBAND & FATHER. A RUSSIAN AGENT? A MARXIST? A CIA AGENT? JUST A PATSY? ON TRIAL. INNOCENT?

Lee Harvey Oswald remains an enigma trapped in the amber of 1963: a man of a thousand faces, most of them wearing a mask. To the world, he is a mosaic of irreconcilable parts: a devoted father, a radical Marxist, a supposed operative, and a cold-blooded killer. He may have been any, or all, of these things.

But beneath the layers of theory and the decades of speculation lies a fundamental human mystery that history never allowed him to answer for himself. The People vs. Lee Harvey Oswald isn’t just the trial of a man; it is a cross-examination of a myth.

This trial invites you to step back into a world where the evidence is fresh and the labels haven’t yet hardened into history. We may never fully uncover the man, but through the Rule of 1965, we will finally put the mystery on the stand.

THE EVIDENCE ROOM

12 episodes. 26 volumes of testimony.
One verdict.

All evidence is drawn from the official record — the 26 volumes of the Warren Commission, contemporary witness statements, and forensic findings available in 1965. No conspiracy theories. No modern speculation. Just the facts as the jury would have heard them.

THE RECORD

KEY DATES IN THE CASE

The Assassination

President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. Lee Harvey Oswald is arrested hours later at the Texas Theatre.

Oswald Shot

While being transferred from city jail, Lee Harvey Oswald is shot by Dallas nightclub owner Jack Ruby on live television.

The Surgeon’s Miracle

Following the shooting in the Dallas Police basement, Lee Harvey Oswald survives a grueling ten-hour emergency surgery at Parkland Hospital. A 24-hour federal and local guard is established outside Room 211.

Warren Commission Formed

President Lyndon B. Johnson issues Executive Order 11130, establishing the President’s Commission on the Assassination of President Kennedy.

The Bedside Deposition

Representatives from the newly formed Warren Commission conduct the first recorded interview with the recovering defendant. The transcript is immediately classified “Top Secret” to avoid tainting a future jury pool.

Discharge to the County Jail

Oswald is officially discharged from Parkland Hospital. Under heavy armor, he is transferred to a specially reinforced isolation cell at the Dallas County Jail to await the Commission’s findings.

The “Patsy” Filing

In a brief, handwritten note smuggled out by his legal team, Oswald reiterates his claim of being a “patsy,” fueling nationwide debate while the Commission continues its work in Washington.

The Warren Report Released

Chief Justice Earl Warren delivers the 26-volume report to President Johnson. While it concludes Oswald acted alone, the “Active Status” of the defendant turns the report into a de facto prosecution roadmap rather than a final historical verdict.

The Indictment

A grand jury in Dallas County officially returns a true bill of indictment against Lee Harvey Oswald for the murder of John F. Kennedy.

Venue Selection

After three days of heated debate, the judge rules that the trial will remain in Dallas, citing the “necessity for local justice.”

The Discovery Deadline

The Prosecution is ordered to turn over all evidence to the Defense.

Jury Selection Begins

Over 400 Dallas citizens are summoned to Courtroom 102. Twelve are chosen to decide the fate of the century.

Opening Statements
